We perform tooth extractions at our office in Hickory, NC and are here to make sure the entire experience is as comfortable for you as possible.
Sometimes, situations arise where one of the teeth in your mouth needs to be removed. For example, you may need to have a tooth extracted from your mouth if your teeth are too crowded or if tooth decay or damage spreads to the pulp of a certain tooth. At Hickory Distinctive Dentistry, we perform tooth extractions at our office in Hickory, North Carolina and are here to make sure the entire experience is as comfortable for you as possible.
To ensure your comfort, we will numb the area near the extraction site before we get the process started. Then, we will remove the tooth and stich the area, if needed, to close up the gums.
When it comes to tooth extractions, it’s critical that you take proper care of the area after this procedure to reduce the risk of infection. Once you have a tooth pulled, we encourage you to:
• Avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours after the procedure
• Refrain from rinsing your mouth forcefully
• Eat soft foods after the procedure and gradually incorporate solid foods back into your diet
• Refrain from drinking out of a straw for a few days as the extraction site heals
At Hickory Distinctive Dentistry, we realize that having a tooth removed from your mouth can be a little bit intimidating and will do everything we can to help you feel confident under our care. To find out more about tooth extractions and why and when they are needed, please don’t hesitate to give our office a call.
